Ordinary People doing Amazing Things

Centennial Officer

Lion Simon Moss

My name is Simon Moss and I am chair of the Communication and Centennial Team for 2016-17.

We are now in the 100th year of Lions Clubs International and the use of good communication is essential to ensure that the world gets the message about the fantastic work that Lions have done for 100 years and what the next 100 years holds.

Our focus this year will be to ensure that all Clubs are taking part in the Centennial Service Challenge and are telling their community what they are doing and how they are contributing to the national and international effort. We will be seeking to improve and increase the use of social media by clubs and we will be looking for success stories that we can use to demonstrate the benefits to clubs from good communication.

On the competition front we have provided a more focused set of competitions that will encourage club excellence and we will continue to provide words of support and encouragement during ties of sadness or illness and congratulations on your successes. Just let the Almoner, Mavis Cooke, know.

We will continue to share your successes and to promote your events through the excellent Midland News and via the web site and mailing list. We will also be looking at modernising the web site.

In order to grow and prosper Lions Clubs need to be visible and that needs good communications.
