Zone Chairman Mike on his travels

Zone E Chairman, Lion Mike Strophair and Warwick President, Lion Norman Winnett.

Zone E Chairman, Lion Mike Strophair recently visited Warwick Lions Club in his official capacity to give a talk on a number of current issues for Lions. Lion Mike said “I was particularly pleased to visit Warwick as they are the mother club of my own Club, Shakespeare Lions”.

“I talked to the Warwick members about the resurrection of Tacade under the new banner by 105M. This was highlighted by how in Stratford we have linked up with Erica Brown, author of the pack, "Life Changes”. We have done this by working with ten schools, training teachers in the use of the pack which deals with Loss and Bereavement. This is following the death of a child and suicide of Erica’s mother”.

Mike also talked about how he was inspired by International President Tam and his tree project and how he wanted to help Alcester and Evesham clubs promote themselves within their communities by planting trees with the help of school children and their parents. This will now happen in 2013.

Mike also said that he talked about how he had been working with the Vicar of Holy Trinity Church in Stratford upon Avon to develop a Food Bank for South Warwickshire. He had been really pleased that both Southam Lions and Shakespeare Lions had responded by donating funds to this much needed project, Southam (£100) by working with Bromford Support and Shakespeare (£750.00) by working with the Trussell Trust.
