The Market Harborough Medical Centre recently held two “flu jab” days for mainly senior citizens at which Harborough TWENTY 12 Lions Club manned the centre with a M.I.A.B. desk.
It was only nearer the date that the Medical Centre gave them the expected numbers, which were over 900 patients on day 1 and 600 on day 2! The Lions worked extremely hard to cope with the numbers and gave out some 1260 bottles, which they believe accommodated over 2,000 patients with the facility.
It was interesting that many patients generously offered a donation and at the end of the second day they had £218 for their charity account.
Hard work but very rewarding and a great reaction from the medical staff and patients was the feedback from the Lions manning the M.I.A.B. desk.
