Shakespeare Lions under training for the Town’s new Foodbank

In the December issue of Midlands News it was reported how Shakespeare Lions had been involved in the formation of a Foodbank in Stratford upon Avon. In January a group of Shakespeare Lions followed this up by attending a training course to enable them to help out in the Stratford upon Avon Food Bank which started distribution just before Christmas.

Lions are well represented in this Community Project with Lion David Sladden being elected Chairman. The food delivery itself is under the control of The Trussell Trust supported by many local people.

During the month Shakespeare Lions President, John Jacobs was pleased to support three organisations within Warwickshire by presenting them with cheques: £403 to Shakespeare Hospice, £150 to Riding for the Disabled and £25 to Shottery Grammar School.
