Towcester Lions recently gave a big thank you to the people of Towcester who, in the dreadful December weather, supported the Lions three street collections which were focussed on three main charities: The Northampton General Hospital new Haematology Unit, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and Northampton charity KidsAid. (KidsAid provides therapeutic support for children and young people who have suffered any form of trauma).

When the Unit was officially opened in October 2012, David Crosby, General Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support said, “Being diagnosed with cancer is one of the toughest things that anyone can face. The environment in which people receive their cancer treatment makes a real difference to the way they feel, which is why Macmillan feels so passionately about providing new units such as this one. We are grateful to everyone in the Macmillan team who has made this new unit possible.”
