The Bra Chain event that nearly made the World Record
It was 4.00 pm. when it became obvious that the attempt to beat the World Record for the longest chain of bras, all linked together, was going to fail.
Volunteers had started to arrive on site at the Worcester Horse Race circuit since 6.00 am. and by late afternoon, some 130,000 bras had been laid out around the 1.2 mile race track. Although it was estimated that there were just about enough bras left to beat the Australian record of almost 167,000, a decision was made to call it a day and rethink how to speed up and lay out the one continuous line of bras required by the Guinness World Record regulations.
A number of problems arose that slowed down the operation of laying out the bras. Some related to the previous storage of 'builders rubble bags' that were used to hold some 750 or 1000 already linked bras.....Read More...
