Thurnby Lions Club Cricket Match

Thurnby Lions Club organised a Six-a-Side cricket tournament between Thurnby Lions, Bushby Lions and S.I. Opticals, on Sunday, 28th September at Leicester Banks Cricket Club ground.

Sponsored by Lion Shabir Ibrahim, the tournament brought together family and friends to join in the social event.

The tournament got underway with Thurnby beating Bushby by 34 runs in the first 10 over match. There were some scintillating performances from both sides, with quick fire batting displays from PDG Suresh Gohil and Lion Neelesh Patel.

The second match SI Opticals against Bushby Lions saw an outstanding batting displays from both Irfan and Sohel of S.I. Opticals with both players retiring on individual scores of 40 not out. S.I. Opticals comfortably winning the match by 63 runs.

The third game was much closer with S.I. Opticals emerging as overall winners having beat Thurnby by 17 runs.

After the presentations and thanks to all sponsors and supporters, the event concluded with a delicious meal.
