Berkswell to Westminster AbbeyAt a Flower Arranging presentation given by Barbara Collins, wife of Lion Ross Collins,on behalf of Balsall Common Lions she surprised the audience by announcing that her next display work would be seen at Westminster Abbey. She is part of a team working on an 18ft high display for a “Golden Anniversary Celebration” being staged in Westminster Abbey in May this year. An audience of over 80 attended the flower arranging demonstration at Berkswell Reading Rooms, which was organised by Balsall Common Lions in support of, the DG Partners appeal, Sands (Still Born and Neonatal Death Charity). Nearly £650 was raised during the evening. | |||
These are some of the magnificent displays prepared by Barbara which were raffled at the end of the evening. In addition Sands were presented with hand knitted blankets for inclusion in their Precious Memory Boxes. Lions across the Midlands are raising money to enable Sands to distribute these Precious Memory Boxes to local Maternity hospitals. A number of Lions and friends are busy knitting these blankets | |||
