Birmingham Exhibition Lions Club Support Breath of Life

Birmingham Exhibition Lions' Club have recently donated £1200 to the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust's "Breath of Life Appeal".

The Breath of Life appeal aims to raise £300,000 for the Neonatal (Special Care)baby units at Good Hope and Heartlands Hospitals and the Resuscitation room at Solihull Hospital. Around ten per cent of babies born at the Trust are admitted to its Neonatal units where they receive intensive and high dependency care.

The Trust cares for 1,000 babies a year with some born as early as 23 weeks old (four months early) and weighing as little as 500 grams.

Funds raised from the appeal will purchase cutting edge equipment needed to continue to provide excellent care to tiny babies.
