Warwick and Wellesbourne Lions Karting Evening

On Wednesday 20th May, Warwick Lions Club invited Wellesbourne Lions Club and friends to their annual Go-Karting evening at the Mr.Karting Centre, located at Bishops Tachbrook, Leamington Spa.

There were 20 drivers and several spectators. After a safety briefing and a short film each driver competed in five short races to determine who should drive in the final.

Generous fish and chip suppers were supplied at about half time.

In a hard fought final a visitor John Lee came out on top winning a trophy and a bottle of bubbly. Second place was Jon Dodd of Warwick Lions whilst third place was taken by 2nd Vice District Governor Neil Chisholm. The best placed Wellesbourne Lion was Stephen Skinner in 4th followed by Warwick Lions Peter Knights and Paul Brown.

The ladies race was between Neil’s wife Beryl and Warwick President Pauline Fanti. In a lady-like race respecting the organisers’ ‘no contact’ rule, Beryl was declared the winner.

Everyone enjoyed the evening thanks to the organisation of Lion Alan Lettis, other wise known as Mr. Karting, who also provided the priceless prizes.
